Notice that the price per book goes down with the more books you order. The reason the cost per book goes down, is because on each order there are set-up cost for our file review, digital presses, and book binding equipment. Once these set-up costs become absorbed into the price per book, you are only paying for the machine time, labor, and material cost that are needed to print a book.
Cost to Publish a Book - What’s Included?JLE Publishing Services' cost to publish a book includes printing the outside front and back covers in full color on 10pt C1S (Coated one side) Cover stock, and then we apply a free gloss lamination. You also have the option of choosing a Matte Lamination for a dull look, but this does cost a little bit extra. Feel free to review our book printing cover options below.
Each new order includes a Free Online PDF Proof. The self-publisher must approve the online proof before we go to press. We also offer physical bound and unbound proofs at an additional cost.
When you use the book printing cost calculator, you can specify the paper stock, binding style, final trim size, and the production speed that you need, and choose any additional services we offer. And if you enter your zip code in the pricing calculator you will be able to get a shipping price as well. But, if you are ordering 100 books or more, the book order is eligible for Free Ground Shipping.

Front and Back Cover Layout
If you're planning to provide your own cover, you will need to provide two separate files — one for the back cover and one for the front cover. Yes, they need to be two separate files.
An image is often a central feature of any cover. The image must be engaging and represent your book, of course, but it also must be crisp and clear. A printed image must have a certain resolution or the image will be pixelated and blurry. Your cover image should be at least 200 DPI for the best quality printing. The best resolution is 300 DPI.

Laminated Book Covers
While you can't judge a book by its cover, you can judge a printer by the types of book covers they provide. That's why JLE Publishing Services exclusively uses Gloss Layflat Laminate when creating gloss laminated book covers. Gloss Layflat Laminate provides superior protection for your book — not only does it leave your book with a professional, high-gloss look, it keeps your book safe from spine cracking.
Our gloss-laminated book covers keep your book looking clean. Fingerprints wipe off with ease, the spine remains intact, and, as the name suggest, Gloss Layflat Laminate actually helps the book cover lay flat.
The layflat laminate is designed to help book covers lay flat and help the cover from curling after a book has been read. Please keep in mind that book covers are made from trees, and are a wood product. Wood products, can expand with excessive humidity and shrink with not enough humidity, and books will do the same.
If you ever visit a bookstore, you may see books displayed with a light shining on them. Most of the time, the cover will be curled. The bright light has pulled out the humidity of the book cover and dried out the paper fibers. Once the paper fibers are dried out, they become brittle and will break when bending the cover open to read the book, and this leads to curling book covers.

Matte Lamination
JLE Publishing Services also provides matte lamination for your book covers. This is a great option when you want your book to have a more muted look. Matte lamination costs a little bit more because the material is quite expensive, but if you want your cover to have that flat look, then matte lamination is for you.
